The first project below was created for my Art, Design, and Digital Culture course. The assignment was to create a piece of protest art, serving as commentary on any social justice issue of our choice. Mine comments on the issue of racial profiling and police brutality, referencing the numerous occurrences of police officers stating that they believed a victim had a gun, causing the officer to shoot them, when in reality it was an everyday, non-threatening object. This project was created in Blender and Adobe Photoshop. The second project below was created for my Print Media course, in which we had to create a mock magazine cover, featuring a visual metaphor, magazine, and social topic of our choice. For this project I also choose to depict the issue of racial profiling. I was chosen as an Honorary Mention awardee by the Scholastic Art and Writing Awards for this project, which was created in Adobe InDesign and Illustrator.
